2016 Tailgating Season is here!

Attention SPPA Parents Club members and friends:

 November 12th Information

WOW!  Navy beats Notre Dame for only the fourth time in 52 years!  Congratulations to the Midshipmen and Coach Ken!

This coming weekend we will once again be participating in the midshipmen tailgate, by providing delicious home made cakes, cookies, pies, brownies and any other tasty and unique desserts you can imagine!

As you know, the tailgate location has been relocated. Please refer to the attached map for the exact location of the SPPA midshipmen tailgate. As you can see, we will have great exposure to the midshipmen, because they will walk right past us during march on and pass by again when they leave the stadium, so we are expecting a good turnout. For those of you who will be dropping off desserts, it couldn’t be easier, as we are literally right along side of Taylor Avenue.

The fourth and final home game of the season will be hosted by the Parents of the Class of 2020. And just because you’re not one of the parents from the Class of 2020, doesn’t mean we don’t need your baked goods. If you’re not able to make the game, then hook up with someone who is going to the game and ask if they wouldn’t mind taking your desserts down to Navy – Marine Corps Stadium for you. For this to be a success, we need across-the-board participation.

This week, the game against Tulsa begins at 12:00 Noon, so we would like to begin setting up by 9:00 AM. We will need some volunteers to help with set up before hand, with serving the desserts immediately following the game, with breaking down tents, tables and chairs after the tailgate, and finally packing all our equipment back into the tailgate trailer. It’s truly a fantastic experience and one of the most productive ways you could spend a Saturday in the Fall. With several folks pitching in to help, it’s a snap. After set up is complete, you’re free to do whatever you’d like for the rest of the day, so feel free to take a stroll over to The Yard or into Downtown Annapolis if you’re not going to the game.

Pamela can be reached on game day via cell at (484)868-5316.

Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and dedication to our midshipmen.  Looking forward to spending some time with the Class of 2020 Parents !

Thanks to a few kind parents stepping up to help with the SPPA tailgate trailer transportation, we will once again be participating in the midshipmen tailgates this season, by providing delicious home made cakes, cookies, pies, brownies and any other tasty and unique desserts you can imagine!

Now it’s time to dust off those muffin and cup cake pans, grease the cake and pie pans and scrub off those cookie sheets! Run out to the grocery store and empty the shelves of all those baking ingredients, set the oven to “Preheat”, and bake to your heart’s content. The first game of the season will be hosted by our Alumni families, and the underclassmen will be looking to us to set an example, so let’s show the rest of the club how it’s done, shall we? And just because you’re not an Alumni member, doesn’t mean we don’t need your baked goods. If you’re not able to make the game, then hook up with someone who is going to the game and ask if they wouldn’t mind taking your desserts down to Navy – Marine Corps Stadium for you. For this to be a success, we need across-the-board participation. For future games and starting times, please refer to the attached 2016 Navy football schedule.
